Irene M. Zurek Bodytko 83 of Brook St. Hamden passed away peacefully at CT Hospice in Branford on Saturday October 3, 2009. She was the wife of the late Casimir J. Bodytko. Irene was born in Scranton, PA on January 7, 1926 a daughter of the late Henry and Mary Kurek Zurek. She had worked as Cafeteria Manager in several schools in the Hamden School System for many years. She was a recipient of the Donald Bonyai Service Award Town of Hamden. She was a member of the Ladies Social Club of St. Stanislaus Church. Irene enjoyed traveling with her husband and children to Florida and England. She especially love her summers in New York with her favorite sister Frances.

Irene leaves her son Gregory J. Bodytko and his wife Cheryl of Northford and her daughter Cynthia Clark and her husband Robert of Orange. Sister of Stella Romanowski of Branford. Grandmother of Cassandra and Kimberly Bodytko and Christopher Clark.
She was predeceased by her sisters Josephine Lukasik, Anna Krafsig, Sophie Ottenbreit, Frances Lezo and Mary Wallesky.
Her funeral will leave the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME 821 State Street TUESDAY morning at 9:15 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church at 10 a.m. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on MONDAY from 5 until 8 p.m. sign Irene's guest book at lupinskifuneralhome.com.
