Olszyk, Henry C.

Henry Chester Olszyk 78 of 818 Orange Street passed away at the Hospital of St. Raphael on Monday June 15, 2009. He is the beloved husband of Ann Fielosh Olszyk. Henry was born in New Haven June 9, 1931 a son of the late Andrew and Magdalen Kucharska Olszyk. A veteran of the Korean Conflict Henry served his country in the Air Force from 1951 until 1955. He then attended Southern Connecticut State College and worked part time for Dixwell Motors. He started his career in auto parts at Cooley Chevrolet which was purchased by Dave McDermott and he remained with McDermott Chevrolet as parts manager until 1987. He then became Parts Director for McDermott
Chevrolet, Hyundai and Subaru until June of 1989. In 1989 Henry started his own business All Types Parts Services Inc, and also did inventories and revamping for auto dealers. Besides his wife Ann he leaves his children Denise R. Olszyk and Henry A. Olszyk both of New Haven and Mark J. Olszyk of Middletown. He is the brother of Mary MacLachlan of New Haven, Genevieve Tomaszek of North Haven, Adam Olszyk of East Haven and Stanley Olszyk of Kent Land, Indiana and the late Lillian and John Olszyk and Frances Talarczyk. He is the brother in law of Andrew Fielosh of West Haven. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Henry enjoyed staying with his many friends in Florida and spending time at the Olszyk Lake in Haddam. He had a wonderful family and many friends who loved him. He will be deeply missed.

His funeral will leave the LUPINSKI FUNERAL HOME 821 State Street THURSDAY morning at 10:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stanislaus Church at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 until 10:15 on Thursday morning prior to services. Please Omit Flowers.
